Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development awards Pendleton DataFarm LLC as an inductee in the inaugural Pacesetter Business Recognition Program

FALMOUTH, KY, April 28, 2008—Pendleton DataFarm LLC, parent company of Document Retrieval Network and DRN Title Search, has been named by the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development as an inaugural inductee in its Pacesetter Business Recognition Program. Pendleton DataFarm was one of 12 companies identified in this initiative, which recognizes small businesses that have made a significant impact in their community and in the region.

"Pendleton Data Farm’s rich history of product innovation and the employment opportunities they provide to the citizens of Pendleton County prove they are a successful business that others aspire to emulate," said Becky Naugle, Ph.D., State Director, Kentucky Small Business Development Center. PDF's Michael Lanin says the award is a big morale booster for the firm. "We are just about to roll out a major expansion program in the midst of tumultuous industry and a difficult economic situation," he says. "It feels like the Commonwealth is behind us, saying, 'We believe in you, go make it happen.'"

A panel of judges selected Pendleton DataFarm based on the following characteristics: introduction of innovative products; increasing employment; increasing sales and/or production; community service; capacity to grow; entrepreneurial leadership; competitive advantage; and other notable factors in the company’s success. The program is a culmination of a joint effort by the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development, the Kentucky Small Business Development Center, the U.S. Small Business Administration, and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis – Louisville Branch.
